Stereotaxic Instrument for Small Animals Rats

An ideal unit for use on small animals, combining many features of the expensive research units.

A ragged ‘U frame to which is fixed a three dimensional electrode manipulator. The frame is mounted on a sturdy base plate at a convenient elevated position.

The lateral and vertical and vertical travel is read on Micrometer Heads to 0.05 mm. Screws have travel of 2 mm, per revolution. The calibrated 80 mm A-P traverse is read on a vemier to 0.1 mm. The unit is fitted with an universal joint with calibrations in vertical and horizontal planes providing access from any angle. The end of the lateral slide has V groove, to take the Electrode Holder. The Ear Bar Slots on the frame have 0.1mm, verniers for ease in centring the animals. A slot is provided on one of the “U frame to take the Zero Adjustment attachment” The frame has sufficient width to take animals upto the size of cats. Rat Adapter with vertical adjustment. 10mm on each side of zero. One set of Ear Bars calibrated in mm. Three sets of Ear Caps of different types and sizes with wire to slip on the bars for different sizes of animals. Two Electrode Holders.
